At FWBC, we do not just sing songs because that is what the church thing is to do. There is a purpose behind it. Throughout all of scripture, we see time and time again that when the people of God worship in song, they do so for a couple reasons. To remind them of who God is and to remind of who they are in Him. That is the same for us now. Singing is a powerful way to help stir our affections to Him. And it is also a rallying cry against the forces of darkness. May we always carry a song to remind us of the majesty and wonder of God, the perfect redemption of Jesus, and The Holy Spirit that dwells within us.
Our Sundays follow a liturgical style based on the practices and customs of the early church. We start with an OPENING SONG as we gather together to praise Jesus. After a series of announcements and our beliefs as a church, we do a CALL AND RESPONSE that is based on scriptures that leads into another song. We then partake in an OFFERTORY followed by a SERMON from God’s Word. We then transition to a time of COMMUNION that incorporates a time of CONFESSION and an ASSURANCE OF PARDON. Once communion has concluded, we will end our time with a BENEDICTION that sends us out into the world to fulfill the Great Commission Jesus has called us to.
